## Know what’s below before they dig.

Planning to hire a contractor or landscaper to dig for a project around your home? Before the shovel hits the ground, keep them and yourself safe by calling 811 or visiting [www.call811.com](http://call811.com/) to make local requests online.

Call to avoid an accident that could result in fines, property damage, serious injury or even death. All you have to do is call 811 at least two-business days (excluding weekends and holidays) before your project begins. It’s not only the smart thing to do, it’s the law!

There are many utilities buried just a few inches below ground and a line can easily be hit when digging for simple projects, like installing mailboxes and fences or even planting flowers or small shrubs.

Never let digging work begin on your property without the call to 811! It’s not worth the risk.
