It's Pollen Time: Home purification for indoor air quality

beautiful woman blowing a flower and smilingNo one wants to have to deal with toxic chemicals, carbon monoxide, radon or mold in their homes. But, unfortunately, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates houses are filled with 2-5x higher amounts of air pollution than what’s outside. And they’re linked to allergies, headaches, eye irritation and respiratory problems, including asthma.

Dust is impossible to remove entirely, but an excessive amount may be a sign your air conditioner’s filter may need changed. (This should be done monthly anyway.) It also accumulates as a result of leaky windows, doors or ducts, or incorrectly vented dryers.

Since Americans spend about 90% of their day indoors, this is a bit disconcerting.

That’s why we recommend seeking ENERGY STAR—qualified products and equipment (such as air purifiers and mechanical ventilation) and having all the installation and maintenance done by a trained professional. In addition to improved air quality (less allergens!), you’ll also see a decrease in your monthly electric bills and energy usage.
